Help Wanted: Solid Waste Attendant, Gilford, NH - Full Time

The Town of Gilford is accepting applications for a full-time, year-round position at the Solid Waste Center.

Specific duties include: customer service, processing household trash and demolition debris, recyclables and yard wastes, rules enforcement, grounds & buildings maintenance, operating equipment, and snow removal.

Applicants must be able to become certified as a NH-DES Assistant Operator and/or Principal Operator, as well as obtain a NH Weighmasters license.

Previous experience operating a front end loader, backhoe, skid steer, trash compactor, baling machine, and truck scale is desired. The ideal candidate will have basic computer skills and be familiar with waste product processing techniques. The Town is seeking employees with a proven record of outstanding job performance and the ability to work as a team player. The ability to work outdoors in all types of weather while traveling over uneven terrain, using hand tools and sorting waste products using vision and physical dexterity is required.

Full pay range is $19.42 - $34.42 DOQE. Work hours are Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8am – 4pm with a paid one-half hour lunch. This is a union position.
