Municipal Recycling Services
Cooperative Marketing
NRRA is one of only a handful of nonprofits in the country that operates a recyclables marketing cooperative, which means that we directly connect sellers of recyclable commodities to purchasers of those commodities. NRRA's municipal members produce large volumes of high-quality material. We work with reputable vendors and provide our members with expanded market options and consistent pricing. NRRA provides a monthly pricing guide for voting municipal members only.
Want to request a pick up or obtain a release number, complete our Load Request form and your request will automatically be sent to our Logistics team!
A Bill of Lading is the form completed by the shipper of goods (the Member), which lists and acknowledges the receipt of those goods for transport by the vendor or hauler. This is your receipt for Member owned material being shipped off Town property. We use this to verify the date of shipment, who is transporting the commodity (Shipper/Hauler), the type of Commodity, how much, and how it was sent. Note: bale counts are exceedingly important, as they assist Member Services with quotes.
BOLs are also used to assist NRRA in resolving any discrepancies regarding shipment details and verification.
Cooperative Purchasing
By taking advantage of bulk buying power, NRRA offers its municipal members discounted pricing to purchase items such as baling wire, gripples and more.
Cooperative purchasing programs include:
At-Home Composting Products: Bins, Rain Barrels, Kitchen Pails, and Compost Turners
Transfer Station Items: Baling wire, Gripples, Strapping, and Clips
Transfer Station Storage: Storage containers and Trailers
Gaylords: Plastic and Corrugated
Education & Technical Assistance
NRRA offers many educational resources for communities, including regular Member Operations Marketing meetings, an annual Recycling Conference & Expo, and a municipal members-only listserv.
In addition, municipal officials and solid waste operators often have questions regarding recycling trends, proper processing techniques or market specifications, but are unsure where to call to get the correct answer. NRRA assists its membership by acting as a one-stop clearinghouse of information through its Member Services Team.

Monthly Member Pricing Update
The NRRA Pricing guide is issued on the second Wednesday of each month, initially at the Member Operations & Marketing Meeting, and is based on some reputable National indexes (such as the PPI for paper and fibers and the AMM for Metals) as well as real time average pricing from our various vendors. Please note that this pricing update is simply averages and for the most accurate pricing, you should contact our Member Services department directly. This update is a proprietary tool that we create for our voting municipal members only.
Vendor Price Sheets
Certain commodity vendors only change their pricing annually due to contracts or other agreements. Because this pricing doesn't vary, we offer specific pricing sheets so our members can see exactly what the pricing should be for these items.
