Help Someone START their Own Recycling Habit

You've been working hard at starting your own recycling habit - or upping your recycling game. Now it's time to pass it on and help someone you know start their OWN recycling habit!
**Before we say anymore, we just want to remind you to be kind and supportive when passing on this habit! "Eco-shaming" - shaming someone for their recycling habits or other choices that affect the environment - is counterproductive, unhelpful, and unkind. Plus, there are MANY reasons to recycle and frankly, environmental concerns may not be one of them for some folks...and that's a-ok!
They ask: why should I recycle?
Here are a couple of reasons (choose the one that fits for you!):
1. ECONOMIC - IT BOTH SAVES MONEY AND BRINGS IN REVENUE (ESPECIALLY IN HOT RECYCLING MARKETS!)
Recyclable materials are sold, returning a revenue to the contributing town or city. Plus, by removing items from the waste stream, the municipality ends up paying LESS in landfill or incinerator fees.
2. ENVIRONMENTAL - DECREASES THE NEED FOR VIRGIN MATERIALS, LOWERS LANDFILLING, OFFSETS CARBON EMISSIONS!
Using recycled materials is often less costly (both economically and environmentally through lower emissions) than creating raw materials from virgin sources. Plus, recycling keeps materials out of the waste stream (for a little while, at least).
No matter the reason, any little bit helps, and consistency is always better than perfection!
